Products
What sort of things do you make?
I make mostly knitted and sewn objects.  I make headbands, hats, gloves (fingered and fingerless), scarves, bags, toys, and other things.  I am always looking for new ideas though so my product line will vary.

Do you take commissions?
Yes!  Email me at knittinsmitten@gmail.com and we'll talk.

What materials do you use?
I use yarn (wool, cotton, bamboo, silk, and alpaca mostly), fabric (cotton prints mostly), buttons, paper, and other crafty things I find.  On individual listings of items I have for sale, a detailed material list will be provided.


Payment
What payment methods do you accept?
Online purchases: PayPal is my preferred method.  I will also take personal checks, but it will take longer to get your items because I will need to wait to receive the check (via snail mail) and then wait for the check to clear before I can send you your purchase.

In person purchases: Personal check or cash will work just dandy.


Shipping
Where will you ship things?
I will mail things anywhere in the United States (including Alaska and Hawaii).  If you are overseas (or in Canada or Mexico), send me a message and we'll figure it out.  I've just never mailed anything internationally before with the exception of a letter to a friend in Japan.  So international purchases aren't impossible; they might just take longer.

Do you offer shipping insurance and/or tracking confirmation?
I purchase tracking confirmation and will send you the code so you can see where your package is.  From my Etsy store, I request that you purchase shipping insurance.  On the off chance that things go missing or get damaged in transit, this makes your life and my life easier.  You do not have to purchase shipping insurance, but I strongly encourage it.

How much does shipping cost?
That depends on what I'm mailing you.  Size and weight and distance come into play.  I am not trying to make a profit on shipping; shipping will cost you what it costs me to mail it.

Returns
Do you accept returns?
Yes.  I want you to be happy with your purchase.  If it doesn't fit right, the colors looked different on your monitor, or your nephew hates it, email me as soon as possible at knittinsmitten@gmail.com.  As long as the items are still in the same condition as when I mailed them, I'll take it back.  I only ask that you let me know why you don't want the item so that I can continue improving my products.

I will refund the cost of the item, including shipping.  When you mail the item back to me, I request that you purchase tracking confirmation that way we can see where the package is.  Once I receive the item, your refund will be on its way to you.  If I don't get the package, I can't refund you which is why I request tracking confirmation.  If it gets lost in the mail, that isn't your fault and you should still be refunded so make sure you purchase the tracking and delivery confirmation!

How long do I have to mail my return back to you?
I ask that as soon as you know you don't want the item, that you email me at knittinsmitten@gmail.com.  Once I know the item is coming, please mail it back to me as soon as you can, but don't panic if you can't make it to this post office the same day.

If you received the item over 30 days ago, I will accept returns on a case-by-case basis.  For example, if you bought an orange hat as a Christmas present for your Dad in July and December rolls around and you find out that he absolutely can't stand orange and you want to return it (good as new) that will work.  I want you to be happy with your purchase and happy with the experience you have buying from me.

Questions that Don't Fit in the Categories Above
Why do you link to Amazon?
I am a part of a program called Amazon Associates.  In theory, if you, the reader, click on the links and then buy the product (probably a book, since that is what I'll primarily be linking), I get a tiny little percentage of the price.  This is something new for me and I don't know how it will work out.  I tried to make the links as unobtrusive as possible, but it is a work in progress.

I think you're neat! What can I do to help you continue crafting?
Just keep checking in with my site!  The more people I have looking at my pages and wearing/using my products, the more people will notice. :-)  Link me on your website, tweet about me, follow me on Twitter, 'like' my Facebook page, and add me to your circle on Etsy.  All of that helps get the word out about me.  Thank you!
